Domaine Les Astrelles Gevrey Chambertin Aux Corvees 2022
Tasting Note
'The Gevrey-Chambertin “aux Corvées” from Domaine Les Astrelles is made from a parcel of forty year-old vines and raised in ten percent new oak. This vineyard is located right along the RN-74, sandwiched between la Brunelle to its north (made famous by the Roty family) and Jouise (where Philippe Harmand makes a fine bottling). The aux Corvée’s aromatic constellation is bright and youthfully complex, delivering notes of red and black cherries, red plums, raw cocoa, chalky soil tones, woodsmoke and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is bright, full- bodied and nicely supple on the attack already, with a good core of fruit, fine soil undertow and grip, moderate tannins and a long, tangy and very well balanced finish. This is a fine bottle of village wine in the making. 2033-2075.'
