'Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St Jacques from Bruno Clair has a delightful, extremely pure bouquet with raspberry and wild strawberry scents with delicate floral notes. The palate is tensile on the entry, tightly wound, bright and lively though it just attenuates a little towards the finish. There is a prettiness about this understated Clos Saint Jacques that keeps you coming back for another sip.'
