Chasse Spleen 2001(OWC/6)
Tasting Note
'The 2001 vintage of Chasse-Spleen is a very, very good wine and really shows the difference in polish and refinement here between the decade of the 1980s and the present day. The first class bouquet wafts from the glass in a fine blend of cassis, a touch of red berry, cigar wrapper, dark soil tones, a touch of currant leaf and a discreet framing of nutty new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and just starting to really blossom, with a lovely core, moderate tannins and impressive length and grip on the poised and beautifully balanced finish. This is a very, very good bottle and a terrific value.'
