'Although I generally find Charmes to be one of the lesser Grand Crus, including 2005, the one exception is Denis Bachelet. A lovely nose of pure red cherries, redcurrants and hedgerow there is destined to be very opulent yet refined. The palate has a silky, seductive entry with incredible delineation and immense clarity. Feminine, focused towards the finish that fans out across the palate. A sensuous Charmes that shimmers with vibrancy that will age glacially over twenty years.'
