'The old vines in Blanchot have really excelled in 2018. The wine offers up a brilliant bouquet of apple, pear, citrus blossoms, beeswax, a profound base of chalky minerality, just a touch of vanillin oak and a topnote of lemon zest. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very racy in personality, with a superb core, great mineral drive and a very, very long, very pure and vibrant finish. I cannot ever recall tasting a young vintage of Blanchot chez Raveneau that is as magical as the 2018! Great, great juice.'
