Ramonet Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Caillerets 1987
Tasting Note
'Deep golden color. While the nose has gone completely secondary in character there is only a hint of sous bois in evidence. In the same fashion as the nose there is good vibrancy and detail to the delicious and lightly mineral-inflected medium-bodied flavors that deliver both fine depth and length on the reasonably well-balanced finish. To be sure there is a trace of '87 style acidity on the finale though in fairness this is really quite a good effort in the context of the vintage and perhaps even more impressive, it is still drinking well today. That said I would not be inclined to hold this much more than a few years.'
