Tasting Note
'The 2015 Côte-Rôtie “Ampodium” from Pierre Rostaing is a superb wine in the making. The wine delivers a complex, ripe and youthful bouquet of cassis, grilled meats, pepper, lovely soil tones, youthful stems, black olive, woodsmoke and a bit of cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite powerful for this cuvée, with the vintage’s character adding musculature and a rock solid core. The finish is long, ripely tannic and well-balanced, with impressive nascent complexity and fine length and grip on the powerful finish. This is going to be an excellent wine in the fullness of time, but it needs to hibernate in the cellar for several years before it will really be approachable.'
